Early Detection and Prevention is Essential
Oral cancer often begins with subtle symptoms, such as unnoticed bumps or spots. Regular dental check-ups are essential for early screening and can lead to timely treatment, significantly improving the prognosis.
Cavities often go unnoticed until they cause a toothache, but regular dental exams can detect small cavities early, allowing for simpler and more effective treatment.
Gum disease often develops silently, only becoming noticeable at an advanced stage. Regular dental check-ups are essential for early detection of gum disease, helping to prevent serious complications.
Spotting these dental issues and others early can mean less invasive, more affordable treatments.

Dental Check-up FAQs
How can I best protect my gums and teeth?
To best protect your gums and teeth, follow these essential oral care practices; Brush at least twice a day, ideally after meals. Floss once a day to remove plaque and food particles between teeth. Limit sugary and acidic foods which can erode enamel and lead to cavities. Use fluoride toothpaste and mouthwashes to help remineralise and protect the tooth structure. Do not ignore tooth or gum problems. The quicker problems are checked out, the better and less costly they will be.
Why Is flossing so important?
Flossing reaches the small areas between teeth that a toothbrush doesn’t. Food particles or debris can become caught up in these small spaces causing a build-up of plaque. When plaque is not removed it becomes hard and difficult to remove. Over time, bacteria contained within plaque can attack the teeth and gums causing tooth decay and gum disease. Daily flossing stops plaque building up. The result is a far healthier mouth.
How often should I have a check-up?
We usually recommend two check-ups a year, but this may differ depending on your own specific needs. You should also consider professional cleaning twice a year.
Do you have a membership plan?
Our membership plans help you budget and spread the cost of preventative dental care with a manageable fixed monthly payment. Members enjoy a set number of appointments with a dentist and hygienist, which vary depending on the plan recommended, emergency visits and routine x-rays included as well as a discount on routine treatments.
